The best tips of what to do when cleaning your ears
We know that when you feel your ear is blocked, it can be one of the most irritating and disheartening things in the world. You feel stuck, and desperate to get it out of your ear. You feel tempted to shove anything and everything down there, from hair pins to boiling olive oil! Below we will share a few tips of what and not what to do when your ear becomes blocked. Don't panic.
Tip #1 - Avoid COTTON BUDS
The skin on the inside of the ear canal is very sensitive and can be damaged easily. We do not advise you to attempt ear wax removal at home using cotton buds. This pushes ear wax closer to your ear drum and can cause further problems, making ear wax removal more challenging.
Tip #2 - Hopi ear candles are a lie
We always advise against the use of Hopi ear wax candles and ear wax cleaners online which is found to give false perceptions of ear wax removal and is very dangerous.
Tip #3 - Olive oil is gold
We advise to use olive oil 3 days prior to your appointment, for best results. However we can still remove the wax without olive oil use if necessary
Tip #4 - Seek a professional
When the wax is deep in your ear or hard and nothing else is working, you must seek medical advice from an expert. Here at Clearercare we are experts in ear wax removal, so we are on hand to help, and can even be with you on the same day!
Tip #5 - Keep on top of it
Do not be fooled once your ears are clear again and you can hear the birds tweeting or the wife nagging. Ear wax can be like be like the flu, it can come back again. The best thing to do is to use olive oil regularly to prevent the build up and keep your ears squeeky clean.
